Positive and Negative No. 4

Positive No. 4

Week after week, we are talking about Terry McLaurin.  We talk about him at the office.  We talk about him with our neighbors.  We talk about him with our family.  We talk about him on social media.  McLaurin is worth talking about because he is that good.  Against the Ravens on Sunday, the former Buckeye caught ten passes for 118 yards.  Check out these potential stats after Sunday’s game (posted by yours truly).

As impressive as these stats might be by season’s end, there is one issue we need to mention.  McLaurin is on pace for four touchdowns this season and it is time to get him in the end zone much more often.  However, Terry McLaurin was truly a positive on Sunday.

Negative No. 4

The tight ends for Washington are certainly not amongst the most talented in the NFL, but it would be nice if they were serviceable.  Marcus Baugh is non-existent in this offense and Jeremy Sprinkle is only used as a blocking tight end this season.  That leaves Logan Thomas as the only receiving tight end on the roster, and he managed to haul in one reception for eight yards on Sunday.  That is anemic production from the tight ends.

That stat needs to change if the Washington Football Team wants a diverse offense on the field this season.  Baugh should be released.  He is simply taking up a roster spot with no impact whatsoever.  Here is a possible in-season solution.  It’s time to make that change.  The tight ends will continue to be a negative if the status quo remains.
