Final Thoughts

The defensive backfield is not as talented and deep as the defensive line, but the corners and safeties could richly benefit from big guys in front of them.  If the linemen can live up to their lofty predictions, then it will truly help the backfield in a multiplicity of ways.

Look for Landon Collins to shine in this new system and the emergence of Troy Apke can only be a good thing.  The kick/punt returners will enjoy the best season for the WFT in two decades.  Hopkins and Way should have a very good 2020 season.

Making any kind of predictions for specific positions on a football team is challenging, but there are some indications of what can happen.  One thing is certain with the WFT.  The team will be improved in 2020, but how much improvement remains to be seen.  The new regime looks to have the program pointing in the right direction and we’ll see where the 2020 season takes us.
