2. Redskins must get another big game out of Terry McLaurin

Terry McLaurin hardly played in the preseason, which was received with some skepticism as he is a rookie. Jay Gruden said he was ready though, and it took all of one half for him to showcase why he has the potential to be an extraordinary player.

McLaurin torched the Philadelphia secondary for 125 yards on five receptions and a touchdown. He also just missed a second long touchdown from Keenum.

Keenum showed a willingness to push the ball down the field in Week 1 that this team did not have from the quarterback position last year. Anyone who watched a ‘Skins game last year noticed the lack of explosive plays in the passing game. McLaurin has already demonstrated that he can change this and add a different dynamic to the passing offense.

McLaurin must have another productive day as he faces off against a talented Cowboys’ secondary. By making downfield plays, he will open up the Dallas defense and not allow them to stack the box against the run. New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning threw for over 300 yards and a touchdown against this secondary last week, so there is potential for plays to be made. The Redskins must now put McLaurin in a position to help the offense and make those plays.
