3. Redskins allow Dak Prescott to throw for over 400 yards

The Giants have one of the worst defenses in all of football. Prescott was able to expose them last week and threw for over 400 yards. Conventional wisdom would suggest that Prescott, who has two career games with 400 passing yards, would have trouble repeating that feat.

However, it is possible that against a banged-up Redskins secondary that Prescott could find some success.

Right now, Fabian Moreau (ankle), Montae Nicholson (foot), and Quinton Dunbar (knee) are all dealing with injuries. It’s unclear if any will be able to suit up on Sunday and if they do, it’s likely that they won’t be 100 percent. That could be trouble against a talented Cowboys passing offense.

The Cowboys have vastly upgraded their receiving corps over the course of the past season. Amari Cooper is a true No. 1 receiver for their offense. Second-year player Michael Gallup looks like he’s making strides as a downfield threat. And Randall Cobb is an experienced and athletic slot option for the team.

If any of the Redskins defensive backs are out or limited, the team is going to have a tough time covering these three options. Josh Norman figures to match up with Cooper, and it’s uncertain if the veteran will have success against Cooper. Norman had issues in Philadelphia and unless he can physically battle Cooper, the Cowboys wide-out could beat him. Meanwhile, Gallup could beat a nicked-up Dunbar or Moreau while rookie seventh-round pick Jimmy Moreland may have issues against the experienced Cobb.

Overall, it seems possible that Prescott could log the third 400-plus-yard passing game against the Redskins. It would be a heck of a way for Prescott to kick off his 50th start at the NFL level, and he’ll have the chance to do it, especially if the Redskins can slow down Ezekiel Elliott like they did early last season.
