4. Montez Sweat notches first two sacks of his career

In the first week of the 2019 NFL season, the Redskins pass rush was a major disappointment. They struggled to generate much pressure against the Eagles’ elite offensive line. Cassanova McKinzy was the only player who was able to get a sack and that will need to change in Week 2.

The Cowboys also have an elite offensive line, so it may be difficult for the Redskins to do that. That said, with so many pass rushing weapons available, they should be able to find a way to make some noise.

The Cowboys are likely to key in on Ryan Kerrigan and Daron Payne (if Jonathan Allen is out) as the top players on the Redskins’ defensive front. If that’s the case, Sweat could find himself in some one-on-one matchups. While the rookie didn’t look particularly good in his first NFL action, he still has elite athletic ability and length. And perhaps with the first-game jitters out of the way, he could make an impact.

With the Cowboys focusing elsewhere, Sweat should have a chance to get some one-on-one matchups. He could take advantage of them with his length and get around some of the athletic tackles that Dallas has on their roster.

If Sweat can notch a couple of sacks, Redskins fans will be elated. And that will get Sweat off to a good start for his NFL career, especially if he can play better against the run and overpursuing in his second career game.
