Tennessee Titans

This is one of the few predictions I feel genuinely bad about. The Titans have a good amount of talent, especially on the defensive side of the ball. With standouts like Jurrell Casey, DaQuan Jones, Harold Landry, Cameron Wake, Jayon Brown, Wesley Woodyard, Kevin Byard, Malcolm Butler, and Adoree Jackson, the Titans can reasonably field a top five defensive unit in 2019.

That said, in today’s NFL, offense reigns supreme, and I have reservations about a team whose backup quarterback is better than its starter, and whose coach has recently embraced an inefficient run-first philosophy. The Titans don’t have many glaring deficiencies, but the ones they do have are at areas of distinct importance. Their coaching staff hasn’t yet proven that they can transcend those deficiencies.

As they’ve been so often in years past, the Titans could very well be a case of talent wasted in 2019. Playing in a division with two legitimate playoff contenders doesn’t help matters. The margin for error in the AFC South is slim, and the Titans, while good, aren’t good enough to stand their ground.
