Redskins: Riggo’s Rag Podcast – 90-man roster fantasy draft
By Ian Cummings
The Redskins 90-man roster has been completed, and now, there’s no going back.
In a few months, the Washington Redskins will be forced to finalize their 53-man roster for the 2019 regular season. That 53-man roster will not be entirely new, but instead chiseled from the barren stone that is the 90-man roster.
As of now, it’s impossible to directly quantify the impact that each player will provide the Redskins in 2019, but from reputation, traits, and other factors, we can at least reason the value that each name might bring to the team in fall, and we can predict how the Redskins roster might hold up.
That said, a simple glance over the roster isn’t always adequate. Sometimes, there are exercises that can be done to help visualize the viability of the team’s current structure. With our latest podcast, we completed one of these exercises, by completing a fantasy draft for the Redskins 2019 roster.
For this podcast, I was joined by Jacob Camenker, and we jointly completed a fantasy draft, compiling full game day rosters from only 2019 Redskins players. After the first pick, which was mine, we alternated two picks each, and by the end, we were able to see the fluctuating depth of the team in action.
In the podcast, we go over plenty of notable selections, but we don’t cover every single one.
