The Washington Redskins are continuing to meet with prospects ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft. Their latest rumored meetings are with West Virginia’s Will Grier and Kansas State’s Dalton Risner.

The Redskins have many needs that they are trying to address in the 2019 NFL Draft, but at the moment, it seems that they are going to be focused on offense with many of their early picks. They will likely target some edge rush help, but quarterback, receiver, and offensive line help will all be addressed early as well and have a chance to go off the board among their first four picks.

The Redskins have demonstrated a particular interest in the quarterback position so far in this draft class. This makes sense, as the team needs to find a young quarterback to eventually replace Alex Smith, who is set to be out for 2019 with an injury. Bringing in an early-round option to compete with Colt McCoy and Case Keenum seems likely.

One player that the ‘Skins are meeting with at quarterback is Will Grier. Per NBC Sports Washington’s Ben Standig, Grier is going to visit with Washington ahead of the draft. Grier could be an option for the team on Day 2 of the draft.

Grier had a prolific college career, splitting time between Florida and West Virginia. He has a really good arm, but for the next level, he needs to improve his accuracy and consistency. He could be coached up and has a lot of potential. So, if the Redskins want to wait until Round 2 or 3 to get a quarterback, targeting Grier would make sense.

Also according to Standig, Washington is going to visit with Kansas State offensive lineman Dalton Risner. The versatile Risner can play almost any position on the line, and he will probably come off the board at some point on Day 2. In the second round, the ‘Skins could target Risner as competition for Ereck Flowers at the left guard position, and Risner could ultimately win that job. And if he doesn’t win that, he would be an excellent super sub and backup center for the squad.

Risner and Grier are just a few of the prospects that the Redskins are planning to visit with. They have already met with Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and several other prospects. Most recently, they worked out tight end Kahale Warring.

Washington’s plans won’t be clear until the draft draws nearer. But, for now, the visits of Grier and Risner could tip-off that they want to address some of their offensive woes with one of their three Day 2 picks.
