Kahale Warring is reportedly going to visit the Washington Redskins on Friday. Here’s what you need to know about the team’s latest pre-draft visit.

The 2019 NFL Draft is a little under three weeks away, and that means that the Washington Redskins are going to continue visiting with a lot of top prospects during that time. Consider this to be the final cramming session of studying before a big test.

While the ‘Skins have largely been focusing on quarterbacks so far with their pre-draft visits, including rumors of Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Ryan Finley, Clayton Thorson, and Jarrett Stidham all coming to town, the team is, in fact, checking out some other positions as well.

According to NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay, the Redskins are bringing in San Diego State tight end Kahale Warring for a visit.

Warring, as Finlay noted, is a 6-5, 250-pound athlete who could be an intriguing option in the draft. He could develop into a fine player at the NFL level, though it may take him some time to adjust.

Warring played in 17 games in the past two seasons for the Aztecs and notched 49 catches for 620 yards and six touchdowns. He was a decent receiving threat and has the size needed to make an impact at the next level. He will need to be a bit more refined as a route runner to gain separation and will have to prove that he can serve as a blocker. But still, he has some upside.

Given that Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis are both starting to get older, it may be nice for the Redskins to add some young depth at tight end. Yes, they have Jeremy Sprinkle, but it may benefit them to add another prospect who can develop along with him. Warring could be gotten late in the draft, and if he pans out, he could get a chance to lock down a bigger role in 2020.

There’s not too much to read into with this workout. The ‘Skins are just getting a closer look at a raw prospect to see what he’s capable of doing. If he works out well, perhaps the team will consider taking a flyer on him.
