Redskins: 3 players who will go off following the bye week
If you told Redskins fans that Ryan Kerrigan would have no sacks by the bye week, they probably would have laughed at you. However, that is the reality, but it’s also not a reason to panic.
While Kerrigan’s stats haven’t been there to start the season, he has still been able to help out and pressure opposing QBs. The difference this year is that he is surrounded by better talent, particularly on the interior defensive line. Daron Payne, Matt Ioannidis, and Jonathan Allen have all been key in cleaning up for Kerrigan, and that will probably continue throughout the season.
That said, it’s highly unlikely that Kerrigan will get shut out this season. He’s a talented pass rusher and sooner or later, he will get opportunities to make some sacks. Once opposing defenses realize they can’t key in on him, that will give him the matchups he needs to make an impact.

Fresh off the bye, the Redskins take on the Saints and the Panthers. While the Saints have a strong offensive line, the Panthers have some holes at tackle. That will give Kerrigan a great chance to grab a sack or two and really kick-start his season.
Kerrigan may have been a minor disappointment in the first few games, but he still produced. And moving forward, he should have a chance to produce at a high level and could become a double-digit sack man once again if he gets on a roll.
