Jordan Reed has stayed healthy to start the season, and that has been huge for the Redskins. The tight end role is extremely important for ‘Skins offense, and Alex Smith tends to rely on the position as well. That would explain why Reed is second on the team in targets with 20.

So far, Reed has performed steadily in his role, and he has been a weapon over the middle of the field. But as the season goes along, it will be crucial for the team to get him more involved and make him more of a focal point. That will truly help to make him a matchup nightmare.

The Saints are a good place for Reed to start becoming a huge weapon once again. They have been dreadful against receivers this year and they haven’t been great against tight ends either. Expect Smith to target Reed heavily and try to create some chemistry and momentum to start the post-bye week portion of the season.

It’s possible that Reed could be one of the best tight ends in the league again by the end of this season. He’s steadily improving and getting more comfortable as he gets healthier. Hopefully, it stays that way, because if it does, he could have a massive season.
