3. Pete Robertson notches a sack

Robertson is one of my potential dark horses that could make the active roster. If he’s going to do it, he’ll need a big performance on Thursday.

While Robertson’s main value for the Redskins will come via his special teams ability, the team is depth at the edge rusher position. Thus, it would be nice to see Robertson be able to generate some pressure in the event that he’s forced into action during the regular season.

Greg Manusky could decide to let Robertson and Vontae Diggs loose during this game as the two battle for a potential special teams role or practice squad slot. It will be nice to see two young underdogs compete, and if either is to get a roster spot, it will probably come down to the overall ability that they showcase in this contest.

I like Robertson as a potential unheralded stud in this game. If he’s given free reign to use his athleticism and move around the field, he could be a lot for the depth players on the Ravens to handle. He’s not going to do a lot of crazy stuff, but if he can notch a sack, that will do a lot to give him a chance to make the roster.

The stat isn’t the bold part of this prediction. It’s the player recording it and what the end result of a play like this could mean for the Redskins roster. Plus, sacking mobile quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and RG3 is no easy task, so even predicting one sack might be a lot given the circumstances.
