Madden Simulation projects big loss for Redskins against Broncos
The Washington Redskins aren’t looking too hot as they head into the final two games of the season. This week, the Madden Simulation thinks they will lose.
The Denver Broncos are a tough matchup on paper for the Redskins. While the Broncos haven’t lived up to expectations this season, they still possess a stout defense that will likely see them find success against a banged up Redskins offense.
Coming into Week 16, the Skins may be down to their sixth string running back as a starter. They could be without both of their top tackles, but Trent Williams will certainly be out after being placed on season ending Injured Reserve. That will make it very hard for the Redskins to move the ball against the tough Denver defense. The Madden simulation from this week is recognizing that.
This week, the simulation, performed by App Trigger’s Luis Tirado Jr., has the Redskins projected to lose by a final score of 30-13. Here’s what the simulation said about the team’s efforts.

"The Redskins got completely manhandled by the Broncos. Not only did the Broncos drop 463 total yards on offense but their defense kept the Redskins offense in check all game long.Nothing went right for the Redskins as they went 6-17 on 3rd down conversions against a Broncos defense that finally woke up and remembered their identity as a stout unit that stopped anyone dead in their tracks."
There is no way that the Redskins will have a chance to come close to winning this game if they allow over 400 yards of total offense. The Broncos don’t have a very good unit, as they have no quarterback and a banged up offensive line, so Washington’s best chance of winning is limiting them to 17 or less points. If the Broncos rack up 400 yards, they are going to score 30 or more.
Ideally, the Skins would be able to put up a few touchdowns against the Broncos. Winning the game by a score of 21-17 would be doable. But if their offense can’t get going, they’re going to have a tough time moving the ball against the stout Denver front.

The results of this simulation are entirely possible. Washington has been bad on third down this year and their squad is very banged up. With Vance Joseph playing for his job, the Broncos are going to be motivated to win to ensure Joseph will get a second shot at leading the team.
