With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, jobs, bonuses, and future contracts are all on the table.

There’s bound to be change in Washington when the season comes to a halt. Such tumultuous times remind loyal fans that this is what’s become of a once-great franchise. Their days as a bottom dweller seemed to be past them, but this season, regardless of all the excuses I might make, has been quite a disappointment.

Sitting at 5-8, long removed from the NFC playoff race, the Redskins have little to play for, on the surface. But whisperings of lessened job security for Jay Gruden have brought to light a lingering consequence of the 2017 campaign.

This franchise is teetering toward another untimely switch at the head coaching position, for all too many invalid reasons. A strong finish to the season would help Jay Gruden, who’s been a better coach than many give him credit for, keep his job, and in turn, give the Redskins just a hint of continuity, a thing that they’ve lacked from year to year.

A strong finish to the season starts today. The Redskins play the Arizona Cardinals at 1:00 PM EST. The game will be broadcast regionally on FOX Sports, with Kenny Albert and Ronde Barber getting the call? Won’t have access to a television set at game time? Don’t worry! NFL Game Pass and FuboTV are easy to use on your mobile device! Before you do any watching at all, however, be sure to stock up on background knowledge for today’s game by combing the links below.
