No. 5 – Ryan Kerrigan goes off, notches three sacks versus Byron Bell

Before I begin, I have to say something about that picture. It looks like Kirk Cousins is about to club Ryan Kerrigan in the head with a turkey leg. “Protein! You like that!!”

Ryan Kerrigan does like protein. It’s a good, healthy addition to your diet, and it’s guaranteed to keep you on top of your game. Kerrigan has no doubt been loading up on turkey legs this season. The stalwart edge defender is playing out of his mind, per usual. Through eleven games, he has nine sacks, two forced fumbles, and a pick six. What’s for dinner?

This week, Byron Bell is serving dinner. And Kerrigan is hungrier than ever. The Cowboys’ backup left tackle will likely get a considerable amount of snaps, if not all of them. Starter La’el Collins is questionable for the game, and he was a limited participant in the latest practice, suffering a back/groin injury.

Injury Report: Redskins rule Jordan Reed, Montae Nicholson, and two others OUT

If Collins can’t play, Bell will get the start. And even if Collins does play, he likely won’t be healthy enough to maintain a regular workload. Thus, Bell will get a good amount of reps, and Ryan Kerrigan will be lined up across from him every step of the way. The Pro Bowl pass rusher has already been on a massive hot streak. And on Thursday, in enemy territory, he’ll reach new heights, notching three sacks against the Cowboys’ backup strong side blocker.
