The Washington Redskins will be without four starters for yet another week. Here’s how they’ll look to fill in for them.

In Week 12, the Washington Redskins were able to get a win despite missing some key players on both sides of the ball. Notably, they were missing a good deal of their offensive line last week, but this week, things are brightening up a bit for them on that side of the ball. With Trent Williams practicing and expected to play, the team will have their star left tackle back and will have an almost fully healthy line, with the exception of the players on Injured Reserve.

However, the Redskins are still dealing with a good amount of injuries. For the second straight week, they have declared four players out ahead of their Thursday night game. This week, the players, per Stephen Czarda of Redskins.com are center Chase Roullier, safety Montae Nicholson, defensive lineman Terrell McClain, and tight end Jordan Reed.

The latter-most player on the report is hardly a surprise. Reed has been dealing with a hamstring injury and hasn’t suited up since the team’s Week 8 matchup with the Cowboys. While Reed has been able to carve up Dallas in the past with his athletic ability, he has fallen behind Vernon Davis on the depth chart this year and wouldn’t have made much of an impact if healthy. For that reason, the team won’t miss him much.

The other offensive starter dealing with an injury will have a greater impact. Roullier, the new starting center in the absence of Spencer Long, has a broken bone in his hand and will miss his second straight start. Roullier has played well this year, but now he will make way for Tony Bergstrom. The former Utah product has had a rocky year and hasn’t been particularly effective. He’s merely a third string center so the other healthy linemen on the interior will have to help him out to mask his deficiencies.

On the defensive side of the ball, missing Nicholson (concussion) and McClain (toe) will further compromise the team’s depth. The bigger loss here is Nicholson, as he has been having a fairly solid rookie year. His coverage ability has proven to be solid and he is far more athletic than his replacement, the veteran DeAngelo Hall.

Meanwhile, McClain has had a decent year on the defensive line, but the team actually still has some semblance of depth at the position. Anthony Lanier will see more time as the fourth defensive lineman, which is good news considering how good he has looked as a pass rusher in the past two weeks. He might be a better player than McClain is right now, so it won’t be much of a downgrade.

Elsewhere on the injury report, it will be worth keeping an eye on Martrell Spaight. The starting linebacker missed last week with an ankle injury and he was limited in practice all week. He is listed as questionable for the game. Getting him back would take some pressure off Zach Brown to produce, so hopefully he will be active come Thursday.
