The Redskins and Cowboys are both 3-3. Coming out of Sunday’s matchup, only one will be above .500.

On the surface, the Redskins appear to be the better team. While Dallas has been inconsistent, losing to teams like the Broncos, Packers, and Rams. The Redskins, meanwhile, beat the Rams, only losing to the Chiefs once and the Eagles twice. Realistically, there’s nothing stopping the Redskins from being ranked No. 3 in the nation, behind the Chiefs and the Eagles.

Except the injuries. The devastating injuries.

On both sides of the ball, the Redskins have been hit extremely hard with injuries. On the offense, four of the team’s five starting offensive linemen could be out on Sunday with injuries, and stalwart blindside blocker Trent Williams has already been declared out. And on the defensive side of the ball, the team has sorely missed Jonathan Allen’s presence up the middle. Allen not only freed up space for Matt Ioannidis, but he also gave the quarterback less time to throw, and in turn, he gave the defensive backs an easier job to do. Also injured on defense is Mason Foster. The veteran was sent to injured reserve with a torn labrum just a few days ago. His steady presence alongside Zach Brown will be missed as well.

On top of the injuries sidelining key players, many of the players who will suit up on Sunday aren’t close to one hundred percent. Josh Norman and Preston Smith were only just cleared to play by doctors, and multiple other defensive players, such as Zach Brown and Montae Nicholson, will be playing with minor injuries.

Simply put, Washington has been absolutely devastated by injuries, and a perceivable end doesn’t appear to be in sight. If the can survive this bout, then there could be light at the end of the tunnel. But it’s a long tunnel. And the Redskins will be limping all the way through.

The game starts at 4:25 EST, and it’ll take place at FedEx Field in Landover Maryland (I bet you didn’t know that). It’ll be broadcast live across the nation, so you’ll be hard pressed to find an excuse not to watch Thom Brennaman and Troy Aikman commentate. But if, somehow, you can’t watch the live coverage, then don’t worry. As always, NFL Game Pass and FuboTV are available for use from the click of a button. If you’re old-fashioned (I respect that), then Redskins Radio has you covered on the waves.

Looks like you’re ready to watch the game! But don’t turn on your graphical device just yet. You can’t just watch the game, my friend. You need to know the game. Don’t know the game? Have a look at our pre-game coverage below, as we’ve outlined everything there is to this contest for you. Enjoy!
