Keep Targeting DeSean Jackson

Both Cousins and McCoy showed the ability to play well with wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who leads the team with 664 receiving yards. He has been the deep threat that the Redskins envisioned when bringing him in.

Jackson has 32 receptions this season, averaging 20.8 yards per catch. In just eight games, he has seven plays of 40 yards or more. His career-high in that category is 10 plays back in 2009.

No matter the quarterback, Jackson finds a way to make them look good. He’s played with Donovan McNabb, Michael Vick, Nick Foles, Griffin, Cousins and McCoy during his career, and they’ve all had bright moments with Jackson – there aren’t too many receivers in the NFL that’s excelled with that many quarterbacks.

In the two games Griffin has appeared in this season, he has targeted Jackson 10 times and completed nine of those passes. If Griffin remains healthy, they’ll continue to build chemistry with one another this season.

But Washington has to stretch the field with Jackson on a weekly basis, no matter whom the cornerback is – he’s already torched Richard Sherman and Patrick Peterson for big plays this season.
