Get Consistent Play out of the Secondary
The Redskins’ secondary has played significantly better over the past two weeks. Their younger corners in Bashaud Breeland and David Amerson have stepped up in the absence of DeAngelo Hall, and Ryan Clark and Brandon Meriweather have both been solid at the safety spots.
Breeland injured his knee in practice Friday, and is listed as questionable for Sunday. But, according to Gruden, it was just a sprain and should be able to go. Breeland had a career-game Monday night against Dallas, as he took on the role of checking Dez Bryant for the majority of the game. Bryant – arguably the best receiver in football — only finished with three catches for 30 yards and one touchdown.
In Greg Jennings and Cordarrelle Patterson, the Vikings have two talented receivers of their own. Patterson can beat you with his blazing speed, while Jennings is a savvy veteran at the position. It will take another good game from the Redskins’ young cornerbacks to defeat the Vikings Sunday.
