Commanders could sign Isaiah Likely

The Washington Commanders won't get the chance to entice tight end Kyle Pitts to the organization, even if they wanted to. He's been franchise tagged by the Atlanta Falcons, who are looking to work out a long-term extension with the Florida product before the July cut-off point.

That takes arguably the best tight-end option on the market, but there are several others worthy of consideration. Among the names being touted by fans as the perfect replacement for Zach Ertz is Isaiah Likely, who looks almost certain to hit the market after the Baltimore Ravens extended Mark Andrews instead.

Likely has always shone when opportunities came his way. He looks more than ready to be a focal point somewhere, and the Commanders could offer him that role as Ertz's time with the franchise looks done.

Faith is dwindling in Ben Sinnott. This is no time for half-measures, so Likely would be a tremendous addition as the new pass-catching tight end.

Commanders could sign Breece Hall

David Blough admitted that the Commanders are looking for more at the running back position. The new offensive coordinator remains confident in Jacory Croskey-Merritt after the seventh-round pick achieved a considerable amount during his rookie campaign. However, fans are expecting Washington to provide more assistance in the backfield alongside Jayden Daniels.

Arguably the best pending free agent, and certainly the one with the highest upside within Blough's more pro-style concepts, is Breece Hall. The New York Jets will probably fight hard to keep him around, but this would be a good time for the player to branch out and try his luck on a team with brighter fortunes and a more prolific presence under center.

While the Commanders failed to meet expectations last season, they remain highly ambitious and could bounce back quickly once the desired improvements are in place. Placing Hall next to Daniels would be a good place to start.

Commanders could sign Romeo Doubs

The Commanders need more firepower around quarterback Jayden Daniels. Their franchise player is entering Year 3 of his rookie deal and will be eligible for an extension after the 2026 campaign. That shouldn't go unnoticed by Adam Peters as he looks to maximize this window before it gets much more expensive to keep the signal-caller around.

All signs are pointing to Romeo Doubs and the Green Bay Packers going their separate ways. Reports suggest the ascending wide receiver is as good as gone from the club, and there should be a queue of suitors looking to attain his services.

Doubs is fast, physical, and can make things happen at all three levels of the field. He's never secured more than 750 receiving yards in a season, but the trajectory is firmly pointing up for a player seeking a more expanded role in a different environment.

That's something the Commanders can provide alongside Terry McLaurin.
