Commanders could target Kamari Ramsey
- Safety | USC Trojans
The Washington Commanders avoided the temptation to take safety Caleb Downs in the first round. Adam Peters opted to find another dynamic wide receiver for quarterback Jayden Daniels with his next selection at No. 71. With a little extra flexibility on Day 3, it would be surprising if they didn't add more competition to the room before the draft concludes.
Kamari Ramsey is more intriguing than most. The USC prospect is explosive and instinctive. If he can learn to become more disciplined in coverage support, someone is going to have a tremendous player on their hands.
Commanders could target Adam Randall
- Running Back | Clemson Tigers
The Commanders didn't get the chance to draft Notre Dame standout Jeremiyah Love, who went to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 3. Nobody was especially shocked by that, despite the hype and the prospect's excitement at the prospect of linking up with Jayden Daniels. However, with only three running backs taken over the opening two days, there is still plenty of meat on the bone.
According to reports, the Commanders are much higher on Adam Randall than most around the league. The converted wide receiver is an asset in the passing game who remains raw, but his ceiling is enormous once the game slows down for him with more experience.
Commanders could draft Sam Hecht
- Center | Kansas State Wildcats
The Commanders are still sitting on their hands when it comes to finding another center. Releasing starting option Tyler Biadasz was a contentious issue at the time and remains so now. If Washington is comfortable moving forward with veteran Nick Allegretti as the team's No. 1 option with no real competition, that represents a gamble of epic proportions.
Sam Hecht is still on the board. The Kansas State product was tabbed by many experts as a Day 2 lock, but he slipped through the cracks. If he falls any further, it's something the Commanders could possibly take advantage of.
Commanders could draft Malik Muhammad
- Cornerback | Texas Longhorns
As previously mentioned, the Commanders need another athletic option in their cornerback room. There are far too many questions to move into the campaign with things as they stand, and Adam Peters still has some enticing options to potentially examine on Day 3 of the draft.
It's surprising to see Texas prospect Malik Muhammad around at this stage of the draft. Some analysts saw him going in the second round but no later than the third. That wasn't the case, but with no fourth-round selection right now, the Commanders may need to move up if they identify him as a player of interest.
