Joshua Josephs - Commanders OLB

The Washington Commanders saw something that others didn't in Joshua Josephs. What he lacks in size, the edge rusher makes up for with length and explosiveness. And after comfortably earning his place on the 53-man roster, Daronte Jones is getting some looks in the defensive rotation.

It's been up-and-down from Josephs, which isn't surprising. He's still learning his craft, and the Tennessee product was always going to be a work in progress. But there are enough good moments to suggest he could have a productive career in Washington with a little extra refinement.

Josephs has all the athletic tools. What he lacks is a little more power and the right counter moves to beat NFL-caliber offensive tackles. That is the next step, but the presence of Odafe Oweh, K'Lavon Chaisson, and Dorance Armstrong Jr. allows the fifth-rounder to develop at his own pace.

But it's so far, so good.

Verdict: Stock Neutral ➡️

Antonio Williams - Commanders WR

As previously mentioned, the Commanders will now be without stud wide receiver Terry McLaurin for the rest of 2026. It's a massive loss, but it could see rookie third-rounder Antonio Williams step up into a more prominent role.

Williams has been a rotational presence so far. He's flashed the promise Washington expected when they took him at No. 71 overall, but they may need more now with McLaurin on the shelf.

The former Clemson star has played 55 percent of the team's offensive snaps. He's accumulated 205 receiving yards and one touchdown, and 10 of his 18 receptions have gone for first downs. Williams is also earning the trust of quarterback Jayden Daniels, which is always the biggest hurdle for first-year players.

Now, Williams has a chance to silence his doubters as a potential focal point in David Blough's scheme. The Commanders will be wary of putting too much on his plate, but he's got the tools to make a real impact.

Verdict: Stock Up ⬆️

Sonny Styles - Commanders LB

The Commanders thought Sonny Styles could be a difference-maker to build around for the next decade or more. It's still early days in the grand scheme, but the first-year linebacker couldn't have started his professional journey more impressively.

Styles belongs. He displays the composure and football IQ of a seasoned veteran, not someone with just six career games under his belt. The Ohio State product is making plays at all three levels of the field, and he quickly emerged as a defensive linchpin alongside Frankie Luvu.

Washington needed Styles to grow up quickly. He has answered the call, showing no fear and trusting his unique blend of exceptional instincts and elite-level athleticism to firmly cement himself as a Defensive Rookie of the Year candidate.

The numbers are improving, as are the impact plays. Styles looks the part in every sense, and his mindset should keep complacency at bay.

Verdict: Stock Way Up ⬆️⬆️
