Washington Commanders inactives list for Week 2 game against NY Giants

Dan Quinn leads his team into battle for the first time in a regular-season setting on home soil. The Washington Commanders will have an expectant fanbase driving them on at Northwest Stadium against the New York Giants - something they must capitalize on to make their footprint within the NFC East at the opening time of asking.
The Commanders were not at their best at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Nobody expected a fully cohesive operation following so many changes across the organization. However, the problems that blighted their previous campaign - especially on defense - were far more concerning.
Quinn and his staff know that more is needed. They've been working hard to raise confidence and increase standards since the Buccaneers gave them a reality check. The Commanders cannot afford to start the season 0-2, which would diminish optimism among the supporters at a time when hope is prevalent for arguably the first time in two decades.
The Giants have gotten the better of this division matchup in recent years, but they are beatable. Brian Daboll's squad endured a woeful start to the campaign after they were heavily beaten by the Minnesota Vikings at MetLife Stadium. They'll also see this as a get-right game versus a team they've enjoyed tremendous success against of late. But if some adjustments are made, there's nothing to suggest the Commanders cannot be more competitive at the very least.
Washington will be without struggling cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr. for this one. He had successful surgery to repair a torn UCL in his thumb. Quinn stated it wasn't severe enough to go on injured reserve, so this represents an opportunity for others to stake a prominent claim.
The Commanders also listed three other players as questionable for the clash.
