Ranking every Commanders' 2023 draft pick ahead of rookie minicamp

Andre Jones Jr. - Commanders DE/OLB
Andre Jones Jr. spent six seasons at the University of Louisiana. In three of those, he was listed as a defensive end and in the other three, he was transitioned over to linebacker.
As mentioned before, the defensive end position is intriguing for the Washington Commanders. However, the linebacker position is in need of an upgrade - especially on the outside opposite Jamin Davis.
The player's best production at Louisiana was his 2022 season, where he played linebacker. The position is arguably the teamโs weakest position and something Washington didn't really address in free agency despite signing Cody Barton and losing Cole Holcomb.
Considering that he was a seventh-round pick, it will be an uphill battle for Jones to make the roster. But, if he can transcend and improve his craft as a linebacker this offseason, then there is a chance he can make the depth chart.
According to ESPN's depth chart, the Commanders are set to start David Mayo as the second outside linebacker position currently. Jack Del Rio runs a lot of sets where just two linebackers are required, but Jones and even KJ. Henry should fancy their chances.
