We are just a week away from the opening round of the 2024 NFL Draft and the Washington Commanders are reportedly closing in on who they're going to draft with the No. 2 overall pick.

GM Adam Peters told the media on Thursday that "they're real close" to locking in who they're going to select.

If there's one place to look to try to figure out exactly who it is they're zeroing in on, the best place to look is the betting odds. If there's information to be had out there, you can guarantee that sports bettors and oddsmakers will have it and adjust the betting odds accordingly.

So, let's do exactly that. Here are the odds for who the Commanders will draft with their No. 2 overall pick.

Who Will Commanders Pick in NFL Draft?

If the betting odds are any indication, the Commanders will be selecting Jayden Daniels with the No. 2 overall pick. The shortest odds available are at DraftKings Sportsbook, who was the odds of it happening at -205. If you translate those odds to implied probability, there's a 67.21% chance of the LSU quarterback being the No. 2 pick in the draft.

There were reports at one point in time that J.J. McCarthy would be the Commanders' eventual selection, but since then the odds have shifted heavily toward Daniels. The pick would make a lot of sense after the team signed Marcus Mariota to be the backup quarterback, who plays a similar style as the Heisman winner.

Drake Maye is still a possibility at +190 odds, but McCarthy is now a long shot at +2600.
