Jayden Daniels and the Commanders are already one of the best offenses in NFL history

If anyone was still holding out on boarding the Jayden Daniels' bandwagon, you're quickly running out of time. Honestly, it may already be too late.

It's been one hell of a month for Daniels, who's far-and-away the Rookie of the Year frontrunner after the first quarter of the season. After his breakthrough performance against the Bengals on Monday Night Football, Daniels followed through with another impressive win – this time in Arizona, where the Commanders dismantled a Cardinals team that had, up to that point, looked like a tough out.

But for the second time in as many weeks, Daniels and the rest of the Commanders offense looked unstoppable. Daniels' insane accuracy was once again on display (26/30) and the offense looked as balanced as ever, finishing with over 200 yards both through the air and on the ground. The Commanders have now scored over 35 points in back-to-back games, and that you know that nagging feeling you've been trying to ignore? The one that insists the Commanders might have might a truly historic offense in the making? You're right! And not only that, but they've been one of the best offenses ever through the first four weeks.

Jayden Daniels and the Commanders are putting up historically great stats already

Just to summarize, the Commanders are currently on pace to be a better offense than teams that had Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce all in their prime. Some of those teams at the top of that list – the 2007 Patriots especially – will go down in history as some of the most prolific offenses in the history of organized professional football, and the Commanders are currently playing better than they did.

Admittedly, it's a bit jarring to see a list of offenses featuring New England, Kansas City, Green Bay, and ... Washington. On top of that, league-wide offense is down this year! The Commanders are running a 2020-level offense in what's looking like the start of a changed, less explosive era of football. At long last, the Commanders being an outlier is finally a good thing. If you want to reserve judgement until they've played more than four games, I won't stop you. But if you want just get way out ahead of your skis and declare the 2024 Commanders one of the all-time great offenses, at least now you have two tweets to back you up. And I defintely won't stop you there, either.
