It only took 3 games for Jayden Daniels to make Bears fans panic about Caleb Williams

A little overreaction never hurt.

After last night's Commanders win on Monday Night Football, there were almost too many reactions to keep track of. There was, of course, every single person in the DC metro area weeping tears of joy as they watched the coronation of their next franchise quarterback; there were LSU fans all over the country getting on Twitter to take their victory lap; and Davante Adams (???) even had good things to say about him.

But the biggest reaction – and maybe this shouldn't be all that surprising – came from Bears fans. They're a sort of kindred spirit to Commanders fans: obsessed football maniacs who don't really have any idea what good quarterback play looks like. They've had three ... okayish? ... games of Caleb Williams so far, despite just about everything else going wrong. And yet, despite the overwhelming amount of hope that still exists for them right now, Daniels' stellar MNF debut absolutely put them in the blender. Reader, if you're not tuned into what kind of panic is growing in Chicago right now, I should warn you: it's intense.

Bears fans are having a bit of a crisis about Caleb Williams vs. Jayden Daniels

And these are just some of the more put-together thoughts on the comparison. If you want the real, uncut stuff, it's all there for you with even the most casual Twitter search. And while the general consensus among people who study these things for a living is that you don't really know what quarterback you have until Year 3, Bears fans have decided that Week 3 is also an acceptable time to abandon ship. It's very Chicago Football Fan of them, but also, after a night of watching someone they could have drafted go 21-23 with 250 yards and one of the nicest, most clutch touchdown throws you'll see all year, it's kinda hard to blame them.

Maybe the Commanders will surprise some people and keep looking like the class of the NFC East, and maybe they won't. But regardless of what happens, Commanders fans are in a better place right now than Bears fans. And whether it's Cincinnati or Bears Twitter, you take the wins where you can get them.
