How to watch NY Giants vs. Commanders in NFL Week 2 with and without cable
By Dean Jones
The Washington Commanders didn't get off to the best start in 2024. Dan Quinn and his coaching staff have the challenge of picking one of the league's most storied franchises off the canvas and back into contention. Optimism remains that this goal can be met over time despite suffering a disappointing loss at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1.
It was a disjointed performance overall. With so many changes across the organization throughout one of the most frantic offseasons in team history, nobody expected perfection right out of the gate. If the Commanders can kick off their home slate with a much-needed divisional win over the New York Giants, it's a sign progress is being made.
Fans will fill the stands to get a first-hand look at this exciting new era in a competitive setting. They've seen all the alterations and want more for the perennial underachiever that they love so dearly. Some are willing to give this project time. Others are sick of waiting, even though they cannot be anything other than thrilled by the way things unfolded before their season curtain-raiser.
The Giants won't be doing them any favors and have a good record against the Commanders in recent years. Veteran quarterback Daniel Jones is going through some significant turmoil and got uncalled-for abuse from fans on his way out of MetLife Stadium following their defeat to the Minnesota Vikings. He's on the hot seat, but Washington supporters know first-hand the damage he can do if allowed to get out of the pocket.
This game will be won and lost in the trenches. The Commanders must nullify a strong-looking defensive front and also make life extremely uncomfortable for Jones by applying consistent pressure. Whether they can raise standards accordingly and make the adjustments needed is another matter.
Can the Commanders send their fans home happy by beating an NFC East foe? Or will Brian Daboll's men bounce back quickly and continue their impressive run of success versus Washington?

Hopefully, Northwest Stadium will be rocking and the Commanders can pick up their first victory of the 2024 campaign at the second time of asking. It won't be easy - the Giants are also a wounded animal in need of morale - but Quinn's men have nothing to fear despite the tricky test awaiting them with raised expectancy from the fanbase.
