The Washington Commanders are gearing up for their second preseason clash as preparations for the 2024 campaign gather pace. Dan Quinn leads his new-look squad to the sunny Florida climate to take on the Miami Dolphins. It's unknown how many starters will feature for both sides, but it should be a fascinating battle nonetheless.

Washington and Miami participated in a joint practice on Thursday that was physical and competitive in equal measure. This was an outstanding assessment tool for Quinn and general manager Adam Peters, especially with final cuts to confirm their initial 53-man roster for the new season rapidly approaching.

Quinn will learn a lot from his players versus Mike McDaniel's men. The Dolphins are anticipating another strong tilt for postseason football this season. They have an abundance of dynamic playmakers on both sides of the football and recently tied down franchise quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a four-year, $212.4 million contract with a $42 million signing bonus and $167.17 million guaranteed.

The Commanders will be hoping to do the same with No. 2 pick Jayden Daniels in the coming years if he becomes what those in power hope. While the Heisman Trophy winner won't be on the field much in this one, it's a chance for those lower down the pecking order to stake their respective claims in the penultimate contest before their fates are sealed.
