After a memorable road trip that finally put the Washington Commanders back on the map, Dan Quinn's men return to home soil for their Week 5 game against the Cleveland Browns. Magic Johnson wants Northwest Stadium rocking to mark the occasion, which is the least this team deserves after setting the NFL world alight with two stunning victories over the Cincinnati Bengals and Arizona Cardinals.

There's a different aura around the Commanders these days. Players are enjoying their football. Coaches are moving with purpose and conviction. Fans are galvanized and largely positive about the future. Ownership and the front office are working in unison to keep things progressing behind the scenes. It's a remarkable turnaround in such a short space of time, which isn't going unnoticed by those around the league.

Expectations are rising as the Commanders gain national plaudits for the first time in years. Quinn is trying to keep everyone on an even keel, but it's difficult despite being just a quarter of the way through Washington's regular-season engagements in 2024.

Things aren't going quite as well for the Browns. But they cannot be underestimated.

There is enough talent on both sides of the football to give the Commanders plenty to think about. This bears more significance on defense, with the likes of stud edge rusher Myles Garrett, explosive linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and gifted cornerback Denzel Ward forming a spine that should be respected.

Washington football is riding on the crest of a wave right now. This sort of positivity surge has not been seen since Robert Griffin III electrified fans as a rookie. Jayden Daniels is arguably even more impressive. However, this is the No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft's toughest challenge of his fledgling career so far.

Can the Commanders pull off another triumph to bolster their ever-growing playoff aspirations? Or will the Browns play the role of spoiler in front of Washington's rejuvenated fanbase?
