The Washington Commanders are set to select its quarterback of the future in the 2024 NFL Draft, and oddsmakers believe it could be a trying year for the team this coming season.
Washington is in a competitive NFC East, but there appear to be two tiers in the division with the Commanders tied with the New York Giants for the longest odds to win it this coming season at +900. Of course, there hasn’t been a repeat NFC East winner since 2003 and 2004.
Could the Commanders, equipped with a promising new quarterback that we’ll find out in two weeks time, as well as a new head coach in Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, make the leap?
Washington will have a challenging schedule with the NFC East slated to face the AFC North this season, but after finishing in last place in the division last season, the team will draw the likes of the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans at home as well.
It’s long odds, but that’s to be expected for the team picking second in the NFL Draft, but there is a ton of unrealized upside with this club that will likely take a big step forward on offense and have one of the best defensive minds in the sport in Quinn heading up the team.
