Commanders HC Ron Rivera's praise

There is a fierce and storied rivalry between the Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles. These are two of the league's most storied franchises that have produced some unforgettable moments over the years, but that doesn't mean there cannot be mutual respect between such bitter adversaries.

This was something Ron Rivera touched on during his recent media availability. The head coach was quick to praise standout center Jason Kelce via Sports Illustrated, who's in his 12th season, is a five-time All-Pro, and widely revered in NFL circles and the Philadelphia community.

"Their center [Jason Kelce] is probably one of the really, really good ones. He’s played in this league a long time, and when you have an anchor like that, naturally a lot of good things will happen. It's a veteran group, it's a big, massive group. I think the key to it is being together."

Kelce is still playing at a high level, which poses a problem for the Commanders' defensive front. Anyone who has watched the offensive lineman's docufilm on Amazon Prime can attest to what a special individual he is, too.

This respect is deserved and one day could see Kelce take his place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But once the Commanders cross those white lines this afternoon, all that goes out of the window.
