Commanders rookie K.J. Henry's emergence
There weren't many positives to take from the Washington Commanders' loss against the New York Giants. Among those was another impressive overall display from rookie K.J. Henry, who continues to catch the eye with increased playing time.
Henry seems to be benefitting more than most from the decision to trade Montez Sweat and Chase Young before the deadline. The fifth-round selection looks explosive and eager to maximize a significant opportunity, which is something he's been waiting for since the campaign began based on comments via the team's website.
"I've been ready to go. Just waiting my turn. I know this is a business, and we have a lot of great defensive linemen in our room. So, just trying to be ready when my name's called."

The one-time Clemson standout looks to have the physical profile normally associated with productive pass-rushers. Henry still needs to polish up some areas of his game, but another offseason honing his craft could be enough to potentially earn a starting job permanently in 2024.
Of course, a new coaching regime might have different plans. All Henry can do is keep impressing and improving in the hope that's enough to convince any new coach that he's worthy of prominent reps next season.
