Commanders News: Sam Howell, Josh Harris, Dan Snyder and name change

Commanders owner Josh Harris' sense of responsibility
It's been a whirlwind 48 hours for Josh Harris. His dreams of buying the Washington Commanders came true after months of hard work and assembling a high-profile team of investors, but the responsibility hasn't been lost on the billionaire throughout the enormous celebrations that followed the NFL's approval vote.
Harris hails from the area, so he knows how much this means to fans. But Dan Snyder was a fan too, so it's clear that isn't enough when push comes to shove.
Thankfully for Harris, he's fully aware of this and is determined to avoid the same mistakes. When speaking to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post, the majority partner outlined his desire to wake a sleeping giant and praised the fans for their undying support in difficult circumstances.
"Obviously, we have a lot of work to do, but I feel like one of the great things about Washington fans is [they’re] like a sleeping giant. There’s still that loyalty. I’m thankful for it and am grateful for it, but … I’m sweating this. I’m stressed. This isn’t just some thing for me. I feel a great sense of responsibility to make this work and to make the city proud of the franchise again."

Judging by the fan reaction over the last few days, Harris' ownership group has already ignited them back to life. It's exciting to be associated with the Commanders again - but building on this newfound positivity is of paramount importance in the weeks, months, and years ahead.
