Commanders News: Sam Howell, Eric Bieniemy, Ben Johnson and staff change

Sam Howell embracing the challenge
It's not just the Miami Dolphins offense that poses a significant threat this weekend at FedEx Field. Their defense is underrated and can take over games, which represents another significant challenge for quarterback Sam Howell in pursuit of an unlikely victory.
Miami's secondary boasts two of the best cornerbacks around - Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard. This is something not going unnoticed by Howell, who stated via Sports Illustrated the need to pick his poison rather than take unnecessary risks in this one.
"He's [Jalen Ramsey] a great player and does a good job of mixing up his looks and choosing when he wants to be aggressive and when he's not. Xavien Howard is a good player as well, so we definitely have our hands full out on the perimeter, but we got some good wideouts and I'm going to take our wideouts vs. anybody every week. You gotta be smart about when you take your shots. And you gotta try and do a good job of having positive plays, especially on first and second down and keeping yourself in manageable third downs. So you gotta be smart about when you want to take shots down the field."

If the Washington Commanders start slowly, Howell will once again be forced into throwing the football on almost every down. That'll be music to the ears of Ramsey and Howard - two of the most prolific ball-hawking defensive backs anywhere in the NFL.
