Which Washington Commanders' news stories are hitting the headlines as players and coaches conclude their second batch of organized team activities today?

Just like that, the Washington Commanders conclude another round of OTAs today (Thursday). It's been another fascinating few days as players jockey for positions and the coaching staff raise standards across the board - something that can hopefully progress heading into their mandatory minicamp and the team's summer training camp.

Among the stories causing conversation recently include Sam Howell receiving more praise, Chase Young's status after missing voluntary OTAs again, Emmanuel Forbes coming into his own, and the Commanders' being named among the NFL's biggest offseason winners.

Let's delve into each topic in more detail.

Commanders CB Emmanuel Forbes continues to shine

It hasn't taken Emmanuel Forbes long to find his feet with the Washington Commanders. The gifted cornerback looks to be taking on coaching well during his first few weeks with the franchise and also establishing himself as a potentially key contributor right out of the gate in 2023.

This is a limited sample size in OTAs, but the early signs are immensely encouraging. Forbes once again caught the eye during Wednesday's practice according to those in attendance, working out of the slot and coming up big against prolific performers such as Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson.

Coverage and presence such as this are exactly why the Commanders spent the No. 16 overall selection on Forbes. If the same pattern continues throughout the summer, it's all systems go.
