Josh Harris urged to build Commanders trust

Although Dan Snyder is doing his best to complicate matters as best he can, nothing has been confirmed one way or another regarding any potential delay in the sale. We'll have more on that shortly, but one thing that cannot be disputed is the task awaiting Josh Harris and his wealthy team of investors once their $6.05 billion purchase gets the green light.

Harris is experienced in running sports franchises and his all-star consortium has thrived in the world of business. This seems like a good match, with the presence of Magic Johnson providing a recognizable figurehead as one of the greatest sporting figures in North American sports history.

When discussing some things that Harris must turn his attention to immediately, Kyle Smith from SB Nation put re-establishing the community links among his three most important. This centers on being present and accountable no matter how things are unfolding on the field.

"I also want the new owners to focus on re-building the trust relationship with the community. There’s an opportunity for Washington’s football team to be a tremendous force for good in the region and for its owners to become trusted voices. The team isn’t always going to be great on the field, but it’s important for fans to recognize, and hear straight from the top, that the organization is committed to excellence, and that a new era of accountability - where the leaders of the organization aren’t afraid to take tough questions from the press - has been ushered in."

Harris will be aware that restoring faith in ownership is among his primary objectives. But the incompetence displayed by Snyder over his inept ownership spell means that fans just want to be inspired - something that looks attainable in the short and long term.
