Commanders News: Sale leak, Dan Snyder trolled, Chase Young and new stadium

Commanders new stadium timeline
One of the more pressing priorities facing Josh Harris' group when their purchase of the Washington Commanders is confirmed centers on a new stadium. FedEx Field is no longer fit for purpose and is among the league's worst venues, which is something that represented a danger to the paying public against the Philadelphia Eagles for good measure.
This is a complicated process. Anyone expecting a quick resolution will be out of luck, with Seth Wickersham and John Keim of ESPN revealing via The Bleacher Report that a provisional date of 2031 might be unrealistic given the circumstances.
"A source with intimate knowledge of the complications and dynamics in getting a stadium built believe that 2031 is too optimistic, given that the team has no site, no deal, and no financing - and that Harris' group is believed to not have the ability to write a check for a new stadium, like Stan Kroenke did for most of SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. For some owners, a finished stadium can take upwards of a decade to complete. "

The leaked prospectus stated that the Commanders had bought an option to acquire around 200 acres of land in Virginia for $100 million. There was also hope within the documentation that $1.5 billion of public funding could be secured for the stadium proposals.
Given how long this might take, the Harris group must also invest in FedEx Field to ensure an increase in standards until something longer-term can be planned. Not exactly ideal, but it's another indicator of the ungodly mess Dan Snyder is leaving behind in Washington.
