Terry McLaurin wants strong Commanders finish
It would be easy for the Washington Commanders to down tools with nothing else to play for in 2023. They are out of playoff contention and any meaningless win would jeopardize their hopes of securing the No. 2 overall selection in the upcoming draft. But there will be a sense of personal pride within the locker room as the Dallas Cowboys come to town looking to clinch the NFC East.
This is a sentiment echoed by veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who called on his squad to follow his lead and do everything in their power to attain an upset victory versus divisional rivals at FedEx Field in Week 18 based on comments via the team's website.
"We've got one game to finish this season off. You want to try to win this game. That's why you come in here. That's why you prepare each and every day. So that's my mentality to give it everything I've got. Try to see if we can get a win."

McLaurin also has a personal target in his sights this weekend. The Pro Bowler is just 54 receiving yards shy of reaching his customary 1,000-yard milestone on the season. If the former third-round selection out of Ohio State can accomplish this feat, it'll be the fourth-straight campaign with four figures - a remarkable achievement considering how things have unfolded for the Commanders offense in 2023.
