Brian Robinson Jr. on Eric Bieniemy's impact with Commanders

Considering the circumstances surrounding Brian Robinson Jr.'s start to his NFL journey, it was a hugely encouraging campaign overall. Something that indicates much more could be on the way with a smoother offseason of preparations under his belt.

The running back looks set to lead the charge as the Washington Commanders' lead option from the outset next season. Antonio Gibson and Chris Rodriguez Jr. will provide relief, but the Alabama product has a significant amount of responsibility on his shoulders entering Year 2.

When speaking to the team via Yahoo Sports, Robinson hailed the impact Eric Bieniemy has made in such a short space of time. And based on the player's comments, having a former running back calling plays is only going to assist ahead of a potential breakout campaign.

"Him being a former running back easily helps him relate to the things he needs me to do. It’s easier for me to listen to him based off playing the same position. So it’s easier for me to take advice and easier for him to give me advice because we kind of have experience in the same position, so I think that’s a little bit more advantage for the running backs on the team now since our OC is a former running back."

While Sam Howell has a huge amount of pressure if he wins the starting job as expected, Robinson can set the tone and make things easier for his signal-caller. Given how much is on the line for the Commanders in 2023, this is going to be of critical importance.
