Commanders News: Logan Thomas, Sam Howell, Kamren Curl and Chase Young

Commanders DE Chase Young linked to the Lions
The news of Chase Young skipping OTAs this week caused an expected stir. This is something the defensive end has done since joining the Washington Commanders in 2020, but many fans feel like he should be around the facility considering the defensive end's current career trajectory.
Young didn't get his fifth-year option picked up after playing 12 times and attaining just 1.5 sacks over the last two seasons. But it seems like the Commanders are going to let things play out and let the chips fall where they may rather than seek a trade partner at this stage.
After Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports recently named the Detroit Lions as a potential trade destination for Young, Kenneth Teape from NFL Analysis went one step further and outlined what the NFC North outfit could offer in pursuit of tempting the Commanders into a deal.
"Detroit could offer their 2024 second-round pick, a 2024 third-round pick via the Minnesota Vikings and a 2025 fourth-round pick via the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for Young."

The Lions could offer that all they want. But it's unlikely, even if pairing Young with another No. 2 pick in Aidan Hutchinson comes with untold potential.
It's time for Young to dig deep and start proving his doubters wrong. Otherwise, his departure could be more realistic heading into the 2023 trade deadline.
