Commanders news: Kliff Kingsbury, Kendall Fuller, Drake Maye and offseason keys

What Kliff Kingsbury wants in Commanders QB
Kliff Kingsbury's ability to develop quarterbacks is one of the primary reasons why the Washington Commanders made a late swoop to make him their new offensive coordinator. Many questioned whether the play-caller was deserving of another NFL opportunity after how things ended with the Arizona Cardinals. That said, it's a move Dan Quinn feels highly confident about.
The Commanders will be leaving no stone unturned before their big decision at football's most important position arrives. Kingsbury is looking for someone with talent, but he also desires a hard worker and someone willing to lead by example based on comments via the team's website.
"First off, you got to have talented players to work with. There's no doubt. I've been very fortunate to be around some really good players, good people, but I just try to figure out what makes them tick. Everybody's different. You want that player to be the hardest worker on your team. You want them to lead those guys each and every day when he shows up in the building, you want them to lift the building up, and that's why those guys make the type of money they do."

This is the most fascinating dynamic of Washington's offseason plans. Speculation linking the Commanders with a daring trade-up for Caleb Williams seems to be diminishing. That could mean a straight fight between Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels, but fans should relax safe in the knowledge there are sound football men making decisions at long last.
