Commanders WR Jahan Dotson honing skills
There seems to be increasing hype about what Jahan Dotson could achieve entering Year 2 of his professional career. The gifted young wide receiver flashed moments of brilliance as a rookie, so the scope for additional growth in a more expansive offensive scheme is there for all to see.
Dotson is getting pushed hard by Eric Bieniemy, who can see how high the wideout's ceiling is and wants to help him reach it. This has been welcomed by the former first-round selection, who's stated how attaining a genuine breakout campaign is his primary objective in 2023.
The Washington Commanders thought enough of Dotson to ignore other positions of need at No. 16 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft to bring him on board. Although his progress will be largely dependent on whether quarterback Sam Howell can provide the consistent distribution that was sorely lacking last time around.
One thing Dotson cannot be accused of is complacency. He's striving for greatness, which was reflected by a special workout session with other star wideouts to hone skills further ahead of Washington's upcoming training camp in Ashburn.
Among others participating in the specially-arranged session included rookie Zay Flowers, recently traded Elijah Moore, and none other than Odell Beckham Jr. Just another incredible experience for the Commanders' stud with the world at his feet.
Hopefully, this commitment to excellence comes across throughout camp and Dotson can hit the ground running when competitive fixtures begin against the Arizona Cardinals at FedEx Field.
