Josh Harris on new Commanders stadium

The fairytale opening to his time as majority owner continued for Josh Harris as the Washington Commanders attained their second-straight preseason success. There is much hard work ahead both on and off the field, but one cannot ignore the complete energy shift across the franchise heading into the new campaign.

One of the more pressing priorities facing Harris' ownership group centers on a new stadium. While millions are being pumped into FedEx Field to improve the fan experience in the short term, fans are demanding those in power come up with a clear plan for a different, state-of-the-art venue in their quest to become an NFL powerhouse once again.

When probed about this topic by Troy Aikman and Joe Buck from ESPN, Harris didn't give much away. But the billionaire did disclose via Pro Football Talk that he is looking to find somewhere that brings the excitement back.

"We’ve got to get back to an exciting place to play."

A stadium alone cannot achieve this objective. You can have the most lavish home imaginable, but it'll count for nothing if the football product isn't up to the required standard.

That's the long and short of it, really. A new stadium will be nice, but one only has to look at the atmosphere following a preseason win to see how energized FedEx Field would be if the Commanders become a contender under Harris and his wealthy team of investors.
