Commanders HC Ron Rivera on WR depth
The Washington Commanders are placing a significant amount of faith in Sam Howell this season. The inexperienced quarterback earned the right to call himself QB1 throughout an impressive offseason and even though it's a journey into the unknown, those in power have placed some exciting skill position players around the signal-caller in the hope he can thrive.
This is especially evident in the wide receiver position. The Commanders are taking through six pass-catchers onto the 53-man roster, including free-agent signing Byron Pringle and undrafted free agent Mitchell Tinsley after an exceptional summer.
When asked about the wideout depth at his disposal, Ron Rivera stated via Sports Illustrated that it all starts with Terry McLaurin. The head coach is also thrilled with the strength overall within the room heading into the campaign.
"It's led by Terry (McLaurin). He's a solid veteran guy who's been an All-Pro player for us and we just feel good that he's got a good group of guys behind him with Jahan (Dotson), Curtis (Samuel), Dyami (Brown) coming along and (Byron) Pringle really stepping in for us and helping us out. We have the pieces that we're looking for. We just feel comfortable."

Howell and the offensive line must live up to expectations. The running game must also set the tone, but there's a good chance this wide receiver group can put up significant numbers with an outstanding offensive mind such as Eric Bieniemy calling the shots.
