Commanders WR Jahan Dotson wants to break out

Even though there was a short period of time missed through injury, Jahan Dotson's rookie campaign was immensely encouraging. The Washington Commanders ignored other critical needs to take the wide receiver at No. 16 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he did nothing to dispel the notion it was the right call during his first campaign in a professional environment.

Dotson's been ridden hard throughout the offseason by Eric Bieniemy. The experienced play-caller is striving to bring the best out of everyone on offense, increasing standards across the board and demanding far more from his players after a lackluster campaign last time around.

This approach has been welcomed by Dotson and others. When speaking on The 2nd Wind podcast, the former Penn State sensation claimed via Pro Football Talk that this will be his genuine breakout year after being relatively overlooked by the national media to date.

"This year I feel like I gotta come crazy. It’s my breakout year , it’s what I’ve working hard for. I gotta make ‘em feel me."

Dotson clearly has a chip on his shoulder with others from the same class gaining more plaudits. If Bieniemy conjures his magic and Sam Howell provides more efficiency under center, there's every chance the wideout becomes a household name within a room that is loaded with explosive talent.
