Commanders News: Josh Harris, Hard Knocks, Montez Sweat and Quan Martin

Commanders willing to do Hard Knocks
There has been no news about just who will appear on HBO's Hard Knocks this summer and the search supposedly widens to find a suitor. The Washington Commanders are one of the teams eligible and although reluctant, would participate in the series if asked according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Not only this, but the insider also revealed that the Commanders are also under consideration for the in-season series. This would be nothing short of fascinating when one considers Josh Harris' ownership group and the drama that could arrive once they begin stamping their mark on the franchise.
"The Commanders, we’re told, would do it if selected. But the Commanders also are under consideration for the in-season version of the show. As it relates to Washington’s candidacy for either show, a source with knowledge of the situation tells PFT that the preference is to wait until the sale from Daniel Snyder to Josh Harris has been officially finalized. For now, the Commanders remain in consideration for the preseason Hard Knocks show. But the league is also looking for volunteers from beyond the list of four teams that can be compelled to do it."

It's been one distraction after another for Ron Rivera since he became head coach, so Hard Knocks is probably the last thing he needs. Unfortunately for the respected figure, his opinion will be a long way down the list of priorities.
This could be the chance for HBO and the NFL to go against the grain and select a team that doesn't match their specific criteria. Especially considering they need to navigate Dan Snyder's departure and his pending investigations if Washington was the choice.
