Chase Young 'hyped' for Commanders return

Sunday's game promises to be an emotional one for Chase Young. The defensive end is making a quick return to FedEx Field just a few short weeks after he was traded to the San Francisco 49ers. However, the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft is keen to treat it like any other based on comments in front of the media.

Behind the scenes, it might be a different story. Young has all the extra motivation needed to put in a decent performance versus the Washington Commanders. According to teammate Nick Bosa, he's seen a different energy from the pass-rusher this week based on comments via USA Today Sports.

"I feel like he’s done an amazing job. I think he’s gotten better each week, and he continues to get better. And this week is a huge one for him. He’s already pretty hyped up about it and excited, so we’re going to try and play our best game for him."

The Commanders will know Young's strengths and weaknesses. However, with Charles Leno Jr. already ruled out and right tackle Andrew Wylie listed as questionable for the clash, thwarting San Francisco's elite defensive front is an almost impossible task.

Young could be forgiven for wanting a little revenge. But considering how things unfolded, a fresh start was the best possible outcome for all parties.
