Commanders unmoved by trade offers

Adam Peters has done a good job of keeping everything in-house this offseason. The Washington Commanders have made a concerted effort to keep everyone guessing, especially when it comes to their plans with the No. 2 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.

While the consensus suggests the Commanders will take a quarterback - especially after trading Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks - nothing is set in stone. Washington could also move out of the pick for a king's ransom if Peters gets an offer he cannot refuse.

Although tempting, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN stated that Peters and his staff have been unmoved by any forthcoming offers up to now. There's time for that to change, but it seems like the Commanders will be standing pat based on the insider's revelations via the Bleacher Report.

"They've made calls but there haven't been any sort of offers that have wowed Washington enough to move from that No. 2 spot. So, right now they're standing pat. I checked with somebody with the team who said that they have not made any firm plans yet as to what they're doing with that second overall pick."

This is a contentious issue among the fanbase, but Peters has a plan in place and should be trusted until further notice. It's been a long time since the Commanders had a franchise-caliber presence under center. This is the perfect time to change all that.
