Commanders confidence in Emmanuel Forbes
Emmanuel Forbes turned in the best performance of his fledgling NFL career last time out at the New England Patriots. This is a solid foundation from which to build, but the rookie cornerback's biggest remaining obstacle is doing this consistently rather than just the odd game.
When discussing Forbes' impact and potential moving forward, Washington Commanders defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio remains full of confidence in the first-round pick based on comments via USA Today Sports. He also added that the defensive back is part of this week's game plan - whether it's going up versus physically imposing wide receiver D.K. Metcalf or someone else is another matter.
"I think he’s just working at it. You know, he’s a good young player. We believe in him. He’s just gotta grind and work. That’s what he has done, and that allowed him to get himself back in the game, and then he played well. No, every week, we put together a plan, go out, and hope to execute the best we can. Obviously, he’s part of it, part of the plan."

Considering how much Forbes struggled against A.J. Brown in their two games versus the Philadelphia Eagles, putting the Mississippi State product on Metcalf could bring obvious complications. It's down to Del Rio and the defensive staff to avoid this matchup and find opportunities for him elsewhere on the field.
